The first digitally colored pic in the history of Scott! Woo!
I downloaded GIMP today out of curiosity, and I love it. From this day forward, pencil crayons are my nemesis. They will all be cleansed with fire and sent to the deepest depths of hell.
That dude on the bench is Gerald. He's a nicotine zombie. Too busy smokin' to die. Dig it.

Yeah, I don't get the vast majority of stuff in that program either, but just being able to fill in black areas with a mouse is very nice, compared to using up my markers and whatnot. And the colors are like a billion times more vibrant and sharp than a photo of pencil crayon work ever could be, at least in my hands.

Gimp and Photoshop are so brighter than colored pencils.

I'm glad you are having fun with it. It is addicting and the things like layers are so so nice.

Yeah, I love it. Both the process and the results are better. And it's waay funner than coloring by hand.

I also just sharpened a few of my traditional pics that were blurry, which is a really nice ability to have since most of my photos have some blur.

In retrospect, I kind was kind of dumb for not getting this about 8 years ago. Heh.
So...thanks again for inspiring me to check into it. I just leapt ahead into the early 90's.

Don't worry about being behind. I finally got my photoshop and wacom due to my husband over the past six months. If it wasn't for him I'll still be using colored pencils! Sometimes we all need a push.
